OSTEOPATHY

We are proud to offer osteopathy as part of our holistic approach to health and wellness. Osteopathy is a gentle form of manual therapy that focuses on the whole body, aiming to improve function, mobility, and overall well-being. Our five-year trained osteopathic practitioners begin with a detailed review of your medical history and perform biomechanical and orthopedic tests to assess any areas of restriction. Using gentle techniques, they work to release tensions in muscles and joints, enhancing the body's natural ability to heal and self-regulate. Each treatment includes time for questions and personalized home care advice.

Osteopathy addresses multiple layers of the body and how they interact, focusing on treating the root causes of discomfort rather than just the symptoms. Whether it's relieving neck and back tension, managing headaches, or aiding in recovery from sports injuries, osteopathic treatments help restore movement and balance. Craniosacral osteopathy, which focuses on the cranium, spine, and sacrum, is also available to release restrictions along the spine and improve nerve function. Our goal is to help you achieve a greater sense of ease and mobility through tailored, hands-on care.

Hello I am Erin. I completed the 5-year curriculum with the Canadian School of Osteopathy in 2020 and successfully defended my thesis on Osteopathic treatments effect on General Anxiety Disorder in conjunction with registered clinical counselling in 2021. The CSO in-depth program specialized in cranial osteopathy, structural dysfunctions, and visceral (organs and their attachments) dysfunctions. Prior to studying Osteopathy, I trained with the National Outdoor leadership School at the Yukon, Canada campus in the outdoor educator program and also with the Psychosomatic College in Australia in 2008. Afterward I was drawn to massage therapy and graduated in 2011 from the Massage Therapy School of Queensland in Australia. I returned to Canada to continue my studies in cranial sacral and yoga teacher training in 2014. I have worked as a registered massage therapist in various locations including Australia and Banff. My continued interest in the body’s working systems led me to study at the Canadian College of Osteopathy Manual Practice in Toronto followed by the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice in Vancouver. I employ a number of treatment tools, depending on whom I am treating and what they are being treated for. I have training in scar tissue rehabilitation, craniosacral therapy, biodynamic osteopathy, yoga, meditation, and psychosomatics and incorporate these into my treatment, as well as provide these treatment styles exclusively if desired. I am passionate about supporting my clients in their health and wellness journey. I would be excited to work with you to optimize your movement and health. In my free time I like to get outside to be in the mountains, the ocean, or the woods, and permaculture gardening.
